GOMPM ALM DREAM WEDDING IN SOUTH TYROL MERANO
Can a province be Alpine and Mediterranean at the same time? Yes! And South Tyrol is a prime example. The vast, warm valleys, characterised by apples, wine and even palm trees, are Mediterranean. South Tyrol also has a wilder, more rugged, but equally impressive side: the distinctive Dolomites, the Alpine flora of the Texelgruppe Nature Park, and the province’s highest mountain, the Ortler. In between, there are high-Alpine pastures, deep valleys, earth pyramids, crystal clear lakes and roaring waterfalls. So much beauty that must be protected, a priceless treasure.
Lisa and Paul have chosen this beautiful scenery to celebrate their wedding, especially the city of Merano, which is native to Paul. Merano is characterized by spacious parks and walks, the botanical gardens and the many waterways. Which radiates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with its historic center conquest visitors with its medieval arcades and the elegant art nouveau buildings. The white peaks of glaciers offer a natural setting of rare beauty. A perfect location for those who want a wedding full of tradition, romance and nature. Lisa and Paul have decided to celebrate the wedding at Gompm Alm, situated in the hiking paradise of ‘Hirzer at 1,800m above sea level. After preparation of the couple, me, Lisa, Paul and the guests we reached the chalet by cable car, and behold appear below us a wonderful show. unique emotion. Arrived at the top, we were ready for the ceremony with stunning views of the Alps.
Gompm Alm is not the classic chalet you would expect to find in the mountains. It ‘an alternative hut. The kitchen is’ extremely creative, while respecting the local produce and tradition, yummy and well-kept; Excellent wine of the cellar, as you do not expect to find at 1800m. The lawn next to Gompm Alm has been turned into a “lounge” in the open air with sofas, ottomans, giant wooden deck chairs, hammocks and tables to enjoy a drink and a lunch in total relax.
